Other Activities
There's a range of activities to fill your days and nights at Blachford Lake Lodge. Choose as many or as few as you wish. Try ice fishing from the frozen surface of Blachford Lake, or hockey or skating on our lake-ice rink. Pond hockey is a Canadian tradition that probably began almost 200 years ago with explorers wintering on Great Bear Lake!
There are groomed ski and snowshoe trails near the Lodge for your enjoyment. Explore the northern woods and lakes on your own or with a companion. Choose skis or snowshoes at the door of the Lodge. Staff will be pleased to help you select your size.
Travel further from the Lodge by dog team or snowmobile. Spend an afternoon or a whole day or more in the open country surrounding Blachford. You can visit the frozen shore of Great Slave Lake to see the magnificent cliffs of the East Arm, a future National Park.
