Blachford Lake Lodge made National Geographic Traveler's 2008 Stay list! In the April 2008 issue, Blachford was nominated for demonstrating a "sense of place", for its authenticity, for sharing the soul of its location and for respecting its environment.

CTV Travel Show "Valerie Pringle has left the building" travel show featured Yellowknife, the Aurora and Blachford Lake Lodge, in 2007. Valerie traveled by dog team, went ice fishing with Blachford owner Mike Freeland and landed among thousands of caribou on her bush plane flight back to Yellowknife.
