Hiking

Blachford Lake Lodge offers well marked and groomed 2km and 4km trails starting at the main Lodge. Hiking around Blachford Lake Lodge

The trails cross a pond created by beavers and along the way offer views of Long Lake and Blachford Lake. Discover the tiny waterfall that trickles down the hill into Long Lake. In the luxury of almost endless daylight, enjoy the scenery, and pause on your hike to sketch the flora and fauna or capture nature in photographs. In mid-summer, the sun circles the sky, both rising and setting to the north.

In early autumn mosquitoes almost disappear, and fall colours of golds, yellows and coppers light up the landscape. In the forest, animals are busy preparing for winter. Our small northern library contains reference books on wildlife, plant life, geology and the natural history of the area around Blachford Lake.

After a day hike, you can look forward to a dip in the hot tub, or a visit to the sauna to unwind, followed by a gourmet dinner in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
